These recipes only require 3 main ingredients: tequila, lime juice and orange liqueur – traditionally Cointreau, though triple sec or any other type of orange liqueur can be used. If you like your margaritas a little sweet, you can also add a touch of agave nectar, and we’re also big fans of a good sea salt rim and lime wheel to make your margarita look as delicious as it tastes!

What kind of tequila is best for margaritas? We recommend using either a reposado or silver (aka Blanco) tequila. Silver tequila is unaged, and will lend to a clean, fresh-tasting margarita with a true agave flavor and a subtly spicy finish. Reposado is tequila that has been aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 2 months and up to one year, and will add a richer, smoother, more nuanced flavor to your margarita.
